VRIESEA ‘Witchetty Grub’ Tristram P / J Townsend* circa 2006

Mature rosette to 40cm. high. 45cm. diameter. Cream/ white base-coloured leaves heavily marked in moss-green glyph cross-banding and peppered in red and pink tones midst fine green longitudinal lines. Arching branched spike has canary yellow branched "paddles" and yellow flowers, typical of V. ospinae var. gruberi. "Witchetty grub" is a term used in Australia for the large, white wood-eating larvae of several native moth species. Glyph Group. Reg. Doc. 12/2015 by Jan Townsend.
