VRIESEA ‘Intermedia Rubra’ | Unknown | ? | |
Plant with this name has been in horticulture for many years but nobody has defined it. Appears to have links with ‘Morobe’s Intermedia’ We assume that the ‘rubra’ refers to the leaf colour rather than the inflorescence. The name seems to have originated in Hawaii and yet plants around the world with this name are somewhat varied. We will only use the photo from Hawaii of the plant used to create Vriesea ‘Jan Nakamoto’ as an example of what the cultivar should look like. Glyph Group. Reg Doc by D Butcher 12/2011.
