TILLANDSIA ‘Maya’ ?Natural hybrid <1996

Tropiflora said, "A natural hybrid from Guatemala w/widely spreading leaves reminiscent of xerographica but softer and rather caulescent - the inflorescence is a cylindrical tightly branched spike of red w/an accompanying slight rosy blush in the leaves". This name is now INVALID because a Tillandsia maya was named under ICBN rules in Novon : 209-11. 2003. If your plant looks like that illustrated on page 113 of the 'New Tillandsia Handbook' 1998 then it should be called 'Rio Hondo' Capitata group
