TILLANDSIA ‘Rose Violet’ | Takizawa, Hiroyuki | 2002 | |
Mature, open, densely-leaved rosette to 65cm. diameter x 65cm high in flower. Scurfed, rose-violet-tinted, soft arching leaves, tapering to a point. Erect, branched spike to 40cm. high above the foliage with rose red inflated paddles and violet flowers. Grex sibling = Tillandsia 'Half Century' but T. 'Rose Violet' is larger and richer in trichomes. Photographed plant has partial variegation in the upper leaves but the breeder thinks it is a one-generation phenomenon.
