Mature, small compact rosette to 8 cms. diameter x to 12 cms. high. Straight, sharp pointed, stiff green leaves, densely stacked and curling upward to one side on its own. Under a cross-section, the leaves are triangular-shaped. During the blooming stages, the inner foliage turns bright red in the upper top portion only. The character of the clone shows two tones = red /green distinctively throughout the blooming periods. Wild-collected as T. ionantha by the late Gary Hammer, at an unrecorded location in Mexico.
