Mature, upright rosette to 60cm high x 50cm. diameter in a typical Neoregelia carcharodon crateriform shape. In strong light, stiff, leathery, bronzed lime green leaves with broken crimson tiger-like cross-banding on outer leaf sheaths only with sepia red leaf tips. The only grex sibling with noticeably extra-large, hooked, black marginal leaf spines, hence the name 'Megalodon', in honour of the prehistoric giant shark Carcharodon megalodon from the Cenozoic Era.
