Mature, open round rosette to 25cm. diameter. About 10 glossy, semi-channeled, laceolate-shaped leaves with down-turned tips, in shades of dark red (new growth) to purplish black in cooler, darker conditions. Dense leaf edge serration and medium undulation. Light silvery scurf in lower leaf axils. Single rosettes flatten to bloom whilst multiples have a mounding habit.
