Mature tubular rosette to 37cms. high, flaring at the top and developing a semi-bulbous base. In strong light the green leaves turn tan and the foliage reverse becomes scurfed red\ with light silver cross-bands and some green speckling. The erect inflorescence just above the central nest has brick red bracts and violet flowers. Reg. Doc. 4/2000
