CRYPTANTHUS ‘Madge’ Weston, Dave 2020

Mature, open large rosette to 60cm diameter of a radial, round , open symmetry. Foliage is 12-14 wavy curving leaves per rosette, each tapering to a narrow / long lanceolate shape and 4-5cm. wide. Margins are finely serrated with small dense spines. Initially growth is upright with fairly stiff arching leaves, but flattening with maturity. Leaf blades have pronounced crenulations and base colours are dark brown with pronounced irregular cryptic silvery white cross-banding, extending to the full width of the leaf blades. The foliage reverse has a dense layer of trichomes giving a whitish grey appearance. At blooming the central cluster has white non-fragrant flowers. Offsets are produced both basally and from the leaf axils. Reg. Doc.2/2022.
