TILLANDSIA ‘Joel's Twisted Sister’ ? / Koide Hyatt P* <1992

Linked to the very large clone of T. bulbosa imported from Belize to California. Grown by Los Angeles tillandsia collector Bruce Katz. A robust genetic mutation which grows to 35cms. or more long, but rarely blooms. Unique growth habit of leaves spiraling around the central stem. Pups emerge from the plant base, even when not blooming. Foliage is green in low light but turns bright red in high light. Differs from T. 'Joel Superior' by the dominant spiral / twist of leaf pattern. Reg. Doc. 2/2014 by P Koide Hyatt.
Country of origin: California USA

Bird Rock Tropicals ref: TX089.
