Mature, stout, funnel-form rosette to 50cm (20 ") tall, flaring at the top. Mossy, grey-green , finely-spined, leathery leaves, each to 10cm wide with blackish, marbled cross-banding. Thick, woody stolons each to 15cm. long. Pendulous / arching inflorescence to 40cm. long with wine red scape bracts and branched clusters of tubular yellow flowers.
