Genus: Ursulaea

Ursulaea is a genus of the subfamily Bromelioideae. It is named for Ursula Baensch, plant breeder and co-author of the popular book Blooming Bromeliads (1994). in 1994 a revision of two Aechmea species by husband Ulrich Baensch and Dr. Robert Read were accepted to belong to a separate new genus. Ursulaea contains only these two known species, both endemic to Mexico.
