Genus: PseudaraeococcusPseudaraeococcus is a genus of the subfamily Bromelioideae. It was elevated from subgenus status within genus Araeococcus in 2020, based on a combination of differences in morphological, reproductive and biogeographical features - hence the name Pseud (false) Araeococcus. The six known transferred species are all endemic to the Atlantic forest of eastern Brazil.Number of accepted species in this genus is 7 (source: species counts in the Encyclopaedia of Bromeliads). |
