Genus: FosterellaFosterella is a genus of the subfamily Pitcairnioideae. The genus is named after Mulford B. Foster, American horticulturist and Bromeliaceae collector (1888-1978). Most species are native to central and western South America, where they mainly grow terrestrially in forest understories.Number of accepted species in this genus is 34 (source: species counts in the Encyclopaedia of Bromeliads). |
