Genus: CottendorfiaCottendorfia is a genus of the subfamily Navioideae. The genus name is for Johann Georg Freiherr Cotta von Cottendorf, German patron of the sciences (1796-1863). There is only one known species, Cottendorfia florida, endemic to north-eastern Brazil in Bahia and Piaui states.Number of accepted species in this genus is 1 (source: species counts in the Encyclopaedia of Bromeliads). |
