Genus: Canistropsis

Canistropsis is a genus of the subfamily Bromelioideae. The name is derived from the genus Canistrum and the Greek word opsis (resembling). All species of this genus are endemic to the Atlantic Forest biome (Mata Atlantica Brasileira), located in southeastern Brazil, where they grow as epiphytes and terrestrials.
