Recently I spotted a dozen of my beloved airplants having cobwebs all over
them.
As several people are going to tell you, you have spider mites.
They will disfigure and can kill your plants -- and besides,
you don't want to live with them in your house.
There are several organic and systemic Miticides that will kill
the critters. (Must say that it will kill mites as well as insects!)
The little guys crawl everywhere so you must assume that they
have crawled onto ALL your plants and treat everyone. Also,
wipe down the area that they are sitting on with an alcohol or
cleaning solution.
Mites can start having babies within 7 days of being born
(and then those can lay eggs in 7 days.... ) so if you leave any,
it takes just a few weeks for them to explode into huge numbers
again. Most recommend retreating the plants/area 3 times at
7 day intervals. Good luck.
