[GrowRR] insert/spider attack on my airplants

Dear all,

I wish to consult airplant experts on a problem I'm facing.

Recently I spotted a dozen of my beloved airplants having cobwebs all over
them. On close inspection, I see some microscopic, whitish 'things' crawling
on the webs. From my limited knowledge in inserts, spiders are the only
insects that spn webs, so I suspect those are spider babies.

The symptom is that the whole plant gradually discolourises from a healthy
green to a sickly yellow. The leaves also become soft.

I'm very concerned because even though I keep washing the few afflicted
plants, the webs reappear again and again. The funny thing is, only a few of
these plants seem to be affected.

Are those plants already dead and they are festering from the inside, hence
spiders are attracted to them due to the smell of rot? However, the plants
look healthy on the outside and there is no sign or smell of rot.

I grow my plants indoor and I sun them near the window everyday. My house is
very clean and doesn't have spider webs.

I'm puzzled. Your advice would be invaluable. Thanks.
