    Dan:  I, too, think you might be too concerned about this potential.  I 
am not a chemist, but doesn't lead need a solvent to break it down;  I think 
that water can be used to wash it off the plants.  If the contractor uses sand 
to blast it off  most of it will fall directly down   Have the contractor mesh 
the plants also.  Good luck.  David
