[GrowRR] Vriesea erythrodactylon 'Striata'

Inquisitive growers all
At the Mothers day show in Florida there was exhibited a plant by this 
name. See http://fcbs.org for details. There is a Vriesea erythrodactylon 
variegated but this cultivar seems different. I believe that the striations 
are so weak this 'Nurseryman's name' seems inappropriate. What does impress 
is the almost white centre leaves! This clone is in Australia but all it 
does is offset so I cannot prove it is actually a Vriesea 
erythrodactylon!  I have a gut feeling that it came as a result of 
meristemming but was not considered a commercial proposition but was sold 
to one of us mad collectors. Who has this plant? Who has flowered it? Who 
knows its origins?
I believe it is such a different plant it needs a proper Cultivar name. I 
am pondering over Vriesea 'Eclair'!! I don't know if Americans eat such 
things but it is a cake with cream in the centre.
