[GrowRR] Hybrids

To all keen Bromeliad growers
HELP. As Bromeliad Cultivar Registrar I am in a quandary. I have a
photograph of a xPortemea which was a hybrid done by a Dale Kammerlohr but
he seems loth to want to name it. I am fully aware of the many hybridists
who just dabble and produce the most innocuous hybrids which only the
hybridist wants to grow! These are better left unnamed and unreported to
me. BUT I do get worried when the better class hybrids emerge and get
spread around without being formally identified. Plant societies are great
for spreading around the good looking plants and those receiving these
should be encouraging unnamed ones to be properly named and mentioned in
their local newsletter so all can know the plant's identity. If I can be
advised of this with a photo, it can be put into the Register because
inevitably the plant will spread even further.

So if someone who knows Dale could point out that the high standard of his
hybrids is causing me headaches and that he should name his hybrids, it
would be greatly appreciated.
