[GrowRR] IS this really T. excelsa

I collected this plant in 1991 in Honduras.

At the 2000 conference it was IDed by Harry Luther and Pam Koide as 
Tillandsia excelsa however it does not look like the one in the FCBS.org 
 photo index.

It is similar to T. guatemalensis with the exception of being pendant 
and that the inflorescence always terminates with 3 attached spikes.

Any thoughts anyone?
It is very prolific here in San Francisco. It was growing at about 
7000ft(2000m).
