Benetay,

I live in Baton Rouge, La, USA. Our water tests out at pH of 7.8-7.9
caused by extremely high levels of sodium. (It makes it very 'soft,'
feels like you can't ever wash the soap completely off your hands.)

Despite what all the experts say, we water straight from the tap. During the
hot season (mid-March to Nov), they are outside and get leached from rainfall.

See no problem with most plants -- slight burn in leaf axils of guzmanias and
vrieseas in the winter. I'm careful to not over-do the watering during the
greenhouse stay and also stop soluble fertilizing so that I don't add more
'salts' in the crown. Hope this is helpful.

Frank
