[GrowRR] Slides and old coloured Photos

Photographers all
Mike Andreas has just been taking digital copies of the very large
collection of slides that Carol Johnson of Pineapple Place had, and I have
been looking for those I can use for the Bromeliad Cultivar Register. You
may recall me saying that many of the old registration photographs have
been lost. One thing did worry me and that was how quickly slides can
deteriorate.
Can I make a plea to those who said they would bequeath their slides to
the BSI to let us borrow the slides BEFORE this event? OR to  copy them
digitally NOW! If you want to help I feel sure we can arrange for someone
to copy them for you. Even though I am down in OZ I am sure I can arrange
something closer to home.We are after slides or coloured photos that depict
individual plants and have a bromeliad name written on the slide/photo.
Your name would be recorded for posterity as the owner.Remember that the
BSI and FCBS work together in this identification project.
If you are really keen you can check the cultivar name against the name on
the ON-Line Cultivar Register on BSI.org to find out if we need the photo.
