Many affiliated societies do not have a website due the cost and time necessary
to keep a full-blown site operational and updated. Some societies are blessed
with having members among their ranks with the skills necessary to construct
a web presence for the organization. Still, the expence and effort necessary
to maintain an entire site has kept many societies from proceeding further.
Hopefully, the BSI website can help to fill this need by providing affiliated
societies with a simple method to obtain a web presence and an easy means to
update and maintain their content. Representatives from societies which would
like to set up a web page through the BSI should contact the
webmaster@bsi.org to get started. Ideally, the representative responsible for updating the
web page would have ready access to a computer connected to the Web (through
home, work, or library). No knowledge of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) or
other web authoring skills is necessary although a basic understanding of
some of the more
